Secret to blogging

You don’t have to bet everything on a single blog post. And you don’t need to stop at 100 blog posts.

So the answer to successful blogging is just more blog posts.

You might accidentally craft the legendary post which carries you whole blog.

You can’t know beforehand which blog posts will perform and which won’t.

So in the end you will have to write all of them, which is cool in itself.

More blog posts is more chances to be discovered.

Why I like Linux

There’s basically no malware for Linux at this point.

The real thing Linux has is its package manager which upgrades everything on the PC. This is the thing I like the most.

Currently, I am using Linux Debian with GNOME.

I like writing: sudo apt update && sudo apt dist-upgrade -y. and it upgrades my whole PC. I don’t have to go to every program and update it – so it’s nice.

Of course, Linux has it’s quirks for the desktop, but it suits me at this point.

I call them megs

Since this is da megablog, I call blog posts megs and blogging = meggin.

Because every day I’m making da megablog more mega.

So, it’s just a funny word that makes blogging more fun.

You don’t have to have a traditional vocabulary for your projects. Although you might have issues with discovery, but whatever.

Uncertain goals

You can’t start a blog and say I will make 5€ a day, because it’s an uncertain goal, but on the other hand you can set a goal that you control which is I will write da megablog.

Goals that you control are more achievable than goals that are uncertain, most rewards online are uncertain because they depend on many factors.

But adding posts to your blog is something you can control.

I’m not saying you can’t make 5€ blogging, you can, but it is uncertain.

Nobody can predict traffic, ad rates or donations or anything in between.

When people start creating content they think creativity is money making, but there’s just too many variables for creativity to be profitable.

Not everything has to have a purpose

I like writing blog posts and creating content for the internet and having fun creating something can be sufficient purpose for something to exist.

You don’t need the best deal to maximize the returns and profit.

Working because you enjoy can create something worthwhile.

If let’s say you want da megablog to exist, go and create one. Because many people won’t lift a finger if you don’t pay them. They say it’s wasting time, energy, effort but without these ingredients da megablog can’t exist.

There are people who make free software which is way harder than crafting a post, so you should know that there are people working for free to contribute the society.

But you can be one of them only if you like what you do.

Not everything has to have some sort of high purpose to exist, if you like doing something – do it, you won’t regret it because there are many perks besides money. Money is just one perk.

Working the right way attracts luck

You can work the right way and the wrong way.

And nothing good happens when you keep working the wrong way.

People assume luck is something that just happens, but think about it: can you be lucky doing nothing? Sure you can inherit the money but that’s totally out of control for the most people.

Working the right way always attracts luck, you could drink beer in the bushes and think why you’re so unlucky. Drinking beer isn’t something producing value.

You always get paid for the value you produce if you have the right deals in place.

Adapting to the market

The market is always right, and you’re always wrong unless you adapt to the market.

You don’t have to start a business right from the get go, but you need to adapt to the market.

It’s not enough to do stuff if you want some rewards back.

I would love to just write a blog and not bother about the monetization fuzz, but since life costs money – I need da coin. Modern human life is not free because resources cost money.

You could work in a particular way, but the market won’t ever adapt to you, so you are the one who has to do the adaptation if you want some coin.

High risk

Having high risk doesn’t mean getting high reward.

You could jump from an airplane with no parachute, the risk is high but there is no reward.

So, ideally you don’t want high risk opportunities, you want to minimize risk and get some rewards.

Or you could go play the roulette and put everything you have on 0, the risk is high, but the chance of huge reward is very low.

Today people say high risk = high reward, if high risk = high reward, then everybody would risk everything always because the reward would be guaranteed.

So it’s better to always minimize risk because reward is not guaranteed.

A lot of friction

Posting and hoping that somebody somewhere will be generous enough to support you – works, but it’s not a reliable business model.

When you create content, you want to extract value with less friction.

Because getting da view and getting da click is easier than getting da donation.

So the reality isn’t that you can’t create content, the reality is that you need a system that extracts value from somebody with less friction.

Selling a TV via affiliate link is easier than creating your own product and convincing everybody that it’s good.

So don’t create a product and don’t ask for donations but instead get a system that extracts value with less friction. Somebody somewhere is always paying somebody – it can be you, if you have a system in place.

Writing for hope, can be one way to do it, but it’s not a reliable system and it has a lot of friction.

Scaling the business

If you want to scale your business, you need the right formula.

Scaling doesn’t mean doing more work because you might be doing free labor.

If you happen to find the right formula, then you would need to scale your output, because everybody gets paid for their output when the deal is right.

There is no passive income, as something somewhere has to work. If somehow you find passive income then you’re still relying on the infrastructure to work. Nobody has ever made money laying in bed.

So, if you want result, work with the deal attached and don’t work without the deal.

The most difficult part is not scaling, is not working, but finding the deal. If nobody is willing to finance your work then you really can’t scale. You just can’t work while relying on people’s generosity because most people aren’t that generous.
